any comments - spb insight?

I am contemplating buying spb insight. I have been using the trial for a couple of days. So far I like how it works.

I have been watching the spb forums and see some complaints about different issues.

I wanted to find out from the Aximsite Members what they think. Any issues, success, how many channels you run, (1/2 off coupons )etc.

I like it too but then it takes way too long to download once you have more than 10 feeds. Now I just allow a maximum of 25 feeds and some of the feeds I turn off downloading pictures.

I tried it and stayed with NewsBreak. Some of my comments here.

I beta tested this program for SPB. I really like it. It takes longer to download than Newsbreak, but you also end up with full stories instead of just a headline.

Check out my review over at www.justanothermobilemonday.com.

Oh yea, the full stories is the main reason why I stuck to Insight and no longer use Newsbreak. Totally missed out on the most important part.

First off let me start by saying that I like the concept behind Spb insight (it's the only RSS reader I know off that downloads the images attached to the RSS feed so that you can read and see those images even if you donot have an active web connection unlike Newsbreak which needs a constant web connection to download images) but I dislike the implimentation. Granted Spb Insight is a new program............but I have never had a piece of software damage a memory card or anything else on my Axim x51v.

I installed Spb Insight on my CF Card and it seemed to work well for a while. But when I went to clean my temp folders and browser cache (which I do periodically using Memaid) the program kept running. So I closed Memaid. And proceeded to use Pocket Mechanic the same thing happened so I then tried Airscanner assuming that My device was infected. Airscanner crashed I have never had any problems with
Memaid; Pocket Mechanic or Airscanner. So I put the CF Card in a computer and discovered it had 1.2 TB's of data- that's not a typo that's 1.2 Terabytes of data. I then proceeded to open the card with my file explorer and checked each folder to see which one was corrupted. And as you have probably guessed it was the folder that holds Spb Insight's Cached images and data; it was filed with non-sensical gibberish.

In retrospect it's a good thing I regularly backup my card. And I will never use Spb
Insight again. God only knows what would have happened if the Cache had been installed to the device its self. :realmad:

SPB INSIGHT WILL CORRUPT YOUR DEVICE OR MEMMORY CARD. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

I've been using Insight since it was released. I like that it downloads whole articles with pictures. It is a bit slow, but not that bad. I have it running on a 4 GB SD card with no issues.

The current release (1.0x) has one annoying bug, but not in Insight itself. Because it hits many servers to get the data, the WM2003SE IP stack corrupts itself quickly using ActiveSync. However, it works perfectly over a WiFi Internet connection. Spb says they are working on setting up a proxy as a workaround, but don't know where that stands.

I've heard the card corruption issue before. Some speculate that it is caused by interrupting the process during writes to the card. I think that has some merit because other programs do the same thing. WM doesn't like card writes to be interrupted. OTOH, it may not be that problem at all. All I know is that it works fine for me.

Insight has replace AvantGo for me.
