AvantGo 6.0 Build 3027

Does anyone know how to sharpen up the resolution in AvantGo. It appears very fuzzy. I am using x50v.

Why not try the beta VGA built 6.252?

One difference is that the 6.0 version still allows AG sync through ActiveSync, rather than separately. I would be willing to try the beta version if:

1) The screens truly are sharper, and
2) The AG doesn't take much longer to sync separately than it does when integrated with ActiveSync

Do you have any input on these questions?

Thanks

Prior to the latest VGA beta, Avantgo was pretty much useless to me as the large fonts and poor formatting made it difficult to read. The newer build seemed to solve many, but not all, of the issues. Having Avantgo sync through Activesync is not as big a deal as I thought initially. While, I didn't like the fact that I did away with this feature, I can just update the Avantgo channels over wi-fi without having to cradle the axim which to me is a plus.

Tried but failed

I tried the new beta version on my x51v A12, but the fonts updated and I can't get the app to open....soft resets didn't work. Uninstalled.

How many MB do you sync? How long does it take to do it wirelessly? Did you ever sync AG via cradle?

Was your uninstall successful? Any residual effects afterward?

How I use it

I haven't used Avantgo on my x51v.....or more than a year at that. I can't get the app to open to perform an initial sync for 3 channels (lightweight channels). I don't know what else to try.

No issues uninstalling or since.

Thanks,

Rob

Hmmm...I tried the latest beta and it worked for about 3 days. Then suddenly one day I opened it, it asked for my Avantgo username and password, but wouldn't take them even though they were correct. I unistalled since I wasn't able to get it to work.

Possibly. However, when I tried entering it three or four time, it came up wrong, went onto their website using my PC, tried it there, it accepted it, and then tried it once more on my PPC and it was still a no go, I figured it had nothing to do with my name and password...

I've seen this on past devices too.

I had the same problem. One day I opened Avantgo and it asked for my username and password and then didn't accept them. I verified them on the website but on my Dell Axim it was a no go.

So I uninstalled Avantgo and reinstalled it. Now it doesn't work at all. It seems to be loading but then I get an error message (well actually I get that annoying "A problem has occurred with AvantGo.exe" and then I can chose whether to send it to Microsoft or not.

I tried contact AvantGo about the problem but got no response (which seems to be typical).

Is it possible I didn't completely uninstall Avantgo? How can I check if there is a residual file or something I've missed? I haven't installed any new software lately and Avantgo was working just fine. I actually used it every day (I like to read the papers on it while commuting).

HELP!! My PDA is a Dell Axim x51v, running WM 5.1.195 (Build 14957.2.3.1) and I'm trying to run AvantGo Ver 6.2 Build 3044.
