PIE redirect

I have an X30 with WM2003 SE.

My PIE redirects to some ad no matter what I do. I tried a soft reset, didn't help.

Is there any way to fix this? Can you uninstall and reinstall PIE??

Is it an ad or is it a login screen with alot of ads on it? I ask because at school we couldn't access the internet without a password and instead of having an encryption and a key and stuff, you'd have to open up IE and try to go somewhere. Then it would direct you to the login page (no matter where you tried to go). After that you could use messengers or separate mail programs or whatever...

Clearing the cahce didn't help.

It's definitely ad add. Actually a very simple one.

Everything worked fine yesterday. Now today I have this problem. I did install a new program last night from Handago.com. I have uninstalled this program and then done a soft reset, which did not help. This one program was the only change since yesterday. Hmmm....

Any other ideas on how I might fix this.

IE is the only browser I have, so my internet connection has been rendered useless.

You cdan also give a try to alternate browsers; for example, Opera Mobile. Check out my posts for complete comparisons & reviews of these.

Is it perhaps a home page local to your PDA? Look in PIE's Tools/Options/General.

Home page is the default,

file://\windows\default.htm

the page it goes to no matter what is,

http://www.theradi.us/redirect.html?...ld-splash.html

I suppose I can get another browser, but I'd like to fix this if possible. I'm hoping a hard reset will fix it, but I'm trying to avoid that.

The ad is for a local newspaper.

I called the local newspaper featured in the ad. Long story short, they've set up a free wireless network dowtown. My device was connecting to this network, but I did not have an account. Using PIE and not having an account you just get the front page with absolutely no options or buttons to click what-so-ever. I changed Odyssey client so that my device preferentially connects to my own network, and now it's ok.

This should have been a relatively simple problem, buy I thought that I was already setup to preferentially connect to my network.

Thanks for your replies.
