Brain Dead

You know, I'm pretty stupid really!

I've been reluctant to load any third party apps, thinking that if they were any good they'd be part of the package, and they were all probably a bit flakey!

Then it occurred to me that I've got twenty or thirty apps on my PC and laptop (some of which decidely really are flakey!).

So why was I convinced that my PDA was anything other than another computer?

Talk about getting a closed mindset!

Never mind; I've now got the pleasure of deciding which ones to get!

playing with the extra software is all part of the fun :)

Are there any particular things you want to be able to do?

You really have to try 3. party software, there is a lot of real good programs around. Some are free others are payware.

I any case, the PDA is a good platform for testing software. If anything goes totally wrong, you can make a hard reset, and the machine is as brand new.

So tell us what you want to do on the PDA - play music, play movies, read books ... -, and you will get a lot of interesting suggestions from the community :approve:

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll be gone all day.

Traffic lights that are set for 35 are also set for 70

That's what makes it so stupid. I'm not really a newbie. I've had PDAs since 1990 (Casio thro' Psion, Palm, Clie, Tosh), and have had my Axim nearly a year (98 posts - not all entirely useful though!)!

I've been using Co-pilot and TomTom for about six months, so where did I get this closed mind set on other apps from?

Probably just senile decay!

Laurie

When it came to the Psion the built in software was excellent. Certainly better than the buit in office apps in the axim (and date I say it better than Textmaker/Planmaker)
