As you all know Opera by default places its Cache in /Applications/Opera/Cache4. So I have been redirecting opera cache by modifying the opera.ini file under user pref: to go here: Cache Directory4=/CF Card/Opera. I have been doing this since Opera 8.5 beta. But for some reason after hardreseting and reinstalling opera this no longer works. Cache is not being stored in the specified folder nor is it being stored in the original folder. I tried uninstalling opera and reinstalling, Soft-resets nothing helps.

Please help!!!!

I have enough space to keep opera cache on main memory but I would prefer not to because the read write cycles will burn out the flash memory in ROM.

Ummm... I just made the change after the 8.60u2 upgrade, and when I hit "delete cache", it emptied the one I made on my SD Card (the one I'd relocated the cache to) rather than the one it set up in Application Data. This STILL works, as it does for all versions of Opera.

Are you sure you put it into the "User Prefs" area below the other directories? And that you're using \CF Card\ instead of /CF Card/? The backslashes are what make this work...

Here's mine: the placement of the path may be important. Ditto the capitalization of the path: I assume it's actually "Opera" on your CF card and not just 'opera'?
