For those of you who like that default olden-day-Winamp-classic-looking skin, here's the VGA version http://cafe.naver.com/winvibe.cafe?i...Farticleid=151

It's also worth noting that if you go to WinVibe's homepage here : http://cafe.naver.com/winvibe -- there's MORE skins there too! There's a link on the left!

check this one out : http://cafe.naver.com/winvibe.cafe?i...type=I%26page= (Looks like Korean only ... working on translating..)

EDIT : Turns out their site doesn't appreciate hotlinking.

Thanks for VGA version - I just downloaded it and it seems to work fine. I haven't tried internet streaming yet, though.

Thanks again,
Pam

Slightly modified version of the above skin for us non-Korean speaking users : http://krhainos.tk/KGskin1.mod.zip -- full credit goes to original author.

Also, anyone figure out why the spectrum analyzer option is grayed out? I can't figure out how to enable it on the VGA version :-/ -- worked fine in the QVGA install.

EDIT : Figured it out. According to the author, he says the CPU utilization quadruples due to the required redraws for the spectrum. Even though the Axims have a dedicated chip, he hasn't taken advantage of it. So : Equalizer spectrum, or VGA skins -- pick one ;( I also fixed a bug where there were two "Previous Track" buttons.

I compared to Conduits PocketPlayer trial, GSPlayer (w/ Vista skin, in case player aesthetics somehow influence sound quality ;D) -- It sounded pretty good compared to the other players on my Shure e2c's and Sony "Eggo" MDR-D66s. Not too heavy of an audiophile, but the decoder sounded as good as the others.

I'll mention that Bass Boost was stuck enabled on the VGA WinVibe and registry modding, i couldn't disable it. Some of the Surround functions were fun to tinker with. The only thing I didn't measure was CPU usage.

For being free, it packs one hell of a punch.

It looks pretty neat, but the CPU usage is far too high for the type of application.

With CPU set to Auto and no visualisations running the program keeps the CPU at 400MHz, you can go to Power Saving mode and the player keeps going happily, but once back on Auto it will cycle back up to 400. Bit excessive for what it is doing, especially as TCPMP with the same file falls straight down to 100MHz without problems.

With visualisations the CPU is at 500MHz.

Nice software though... looks nifty.
