New, 4.9.5 version of free audio player WinVibe released!
It was only some days ago that I’ve published the review of the (relatively; it’s been known for “only” a year) new audio player WinVibe (also frontpaged on AximSite). Now, a new version, 4.9.5, has been released.
Unfortunately, the most acute problems (lack of WMA support and high CPU usage) haven’t been fixed in this version. That is, if you want something NOT chewing through our battery quickly, look for elsewhere. (See this article for more info on this very question.)
Direct download links: QVGAVGA; the blog homepage of the project is here. Visiting the latter is recommended; I particularly recommend the “Skins” category – the additional, custom skins are pretty cool.
Thanks for the heads up Menneisyys, still curious about this player to see if the situation improves...

Some of us actually are interested in these things, and want to know if they improve and Menneisyys does an excellent job of keeping us informed when we may not have time to check on them ourselves. I am interested in the player and my thoughts were that a new version might fix things, they didn't and Menneisyys stated that so it's only right that he gets thanks for saving me some time by testing it for me.

I do thank him for the work he does that post wasn't directed towards him at all it was directed towards the player with its resource hogging and lack of wma support.
Keep the lower part of the screen clicked to rotate between the visualization states
Actually, this is for previous users of WinVibe -- I had previously used the older VGA version that had visualizations disabled. Those registry settings from the old verison stuck and carried into the new one and disabled them there too. So under HKCU/HKLM->Software->EurekaSoft delete anything and everything having to do with WinVibe -- and you'll start off with a clean slate, with freshly regenerated registry entries, and an enabled specrum analyzer.
I just had to confirm with the screenshot poster, that it was in fact VGA and the vis was working before I went monkeying around in my registry
EDIT : I recant. The equalizer spectrum disabled itself again for some reason.
EDIT #2 : I closed, and relaunched and it's back -- what the hell is going on? It's done this numerous times!

Your posts were probably deleted for being either a) spam, or b) in violation of the rules of posting (which includes flaming, random fanboyism, and other things... in other words, about half of the posts I've seen from you. ;)
And the way you post, it sounds like you were blasting Menneisyys or some of the other posters here... and you usually do. You may want to learn to capitalize your posts, use full sentences when posting, and provide a more coherent argument besides 'this sucks' or 'that sucks', or 'you suck'.

I'm trying to avoid how things went before. You are right Haesslich, that's exactly how it was, but I'm not going there again as it is why my posts got pruned.... :)
I still think this player looks pretty sweet, it's just a shame it is seemingly written in CPUhog.NET. It looks like it should be a good player but from what I can tell it got more time devoted to cosmetics than actual usability and speed, in the other review I think Mennei said it takes a long while (30sec to 1 min?) to load a large playlist and I've seen first hand how the abomination abuses the CPU.
It's pretty, but only useful if you like having a 3300mAh battery hanging out the back of your Axim, or have it constantly powered which defeats the whole mobility thing.
