WisBar Advance 2.8 Released

Chris McKay over at Lakeridge Software has released the latest full version of WisBar, version 2.8. According to his site, this is not a beta, but a full release.

A WisBar Advance Desktop update is scheduled for this week, too.

For a link to the download and/or if you want to know what is new, have a read here.

There's seem to be a lot of problems from Lakeridge's forum.

Any problems on the Axim's side?
I notice a bit of slowness from start-menu... of course this might be because I read too many slowness forum.

Although I support the official release, you are better off with the current beta.

What is your comparative experience with the beta version versus the final release? Just curious...

I installed 2.8 on my x51v and have no issues with it so far. It appears to also have fixed the problem I was having with dismissing notifications (Axim would freeze). Most of the problems people are having with 2.8 are WM2003 related.

There's a revision 2 of 2.8 that fixes a bunch of the TGA and WM2003SE issues on the Lakeridge Software forums now.

After a few days of using, I see that ver. 2.8.0.1 sucks up memory slower than the previous releases.

2.8.0.2 has fixes for several memory leaks, as does 2.8.0.3, but the latter takes up more RAM due to the older-style graphic-drawing code.
