I've been using tagenda (and previously used similar products) to show tasks and appointments on the today screen. My daughter was asking me today if there was a "separate calendar" that she could use to display her homework assignments on the today screen, independent of other tasks/appointments.

I have never been interested in the more powerful PIM programs, but wondered if something like Agenda Fusion or Pocket Informant would provide functionality like this. For instance would it work like tagenda to show more upcoming tasks on the today screen, and also filter what tasks it shows by category?

SPB Diary works well, and it can filter by category. PocketBreeze is also very popular. I'm not sure about the specifics of PocketBreeze, but I'd assume it does the same thing.

SPB Diary and PocketBreeze both can do what you are asking for. In fact, I use PocketBreeze for that exact purpose. I work full-time and attend school full-time, so I have to be able to change modes quick and so does my Axim. I've used both and I prefer the SBSH products; however, I will always suggest that you try both for at least a few days each before making your decision to buy. Free trials are your best friend.
