Have you turned on the Dell WLAN utility? WiFiFoFum looks for a site but the wireless adapter has to be turned on. Settings->Connections->Dell WLAN Utility.
I only got it to work by "accident".... I had left my wifi on while trying every darn option... finally it worked with:
tools - device - (select) ODIM/TIACXWLN1
Good luck!
(I was going to uninstall the program when I just fluked onto this...)

Tools-->Select Device has only one option (already checked): TIACXWLN1
I don't get why this isn't working for me but works for everyone else. I tried a fresh re-install... no luck.
I have only that option when my WIFI is off or there is no near by signal... as soon as I'm near a signal and my wifi is "on", I get the second (actually, it becomes the first) option

Glad it's working, but it is unlikely to have been the GPS option.
Confirm this: In order for WFFF to work (and other "scanning" software such as Hitchhiker), in the WiFi SETTINGS (accessible from the WLAN utility under the
Turn On/Off" big gray button), you need to make sure that the "Automatically connect to non-preferred networks" is enabled. You can only get to this setting when the WiFi antenna is "turned on".
