Best Picture Editing FREEWARE?

I need a photo editor for my pda. I want to resize photo's on my sd card after taking pictures w/ my digital camera so that i can email them while on the go without the need of my lappy or desktop. What is the best free version out there? Thanks.

Irfanview is a great photo editor. It has a ton of features and even supports batch conversion.

Try Picasa which Google owns. I had several functions. It will allow you to e-mail photos with several different e-mail programs and automatically resizes them.

Go here for a copy: http://picasa.google.com/

Were you wanting to do this on the desktop or your pda? My axim came with a full version of Resco picture viewer (on the cd) which will accomplish this.

You might want to give XnView Pocket v1.35 a try. There's a link to the program in the Freeware sticky a top this forum.

As mentioned above, the Resco Viewer/Editor comes FREE with Axims ... it's fully functional and very nice (check the CD that came with your Axim)

XnView is the one for you.

First, it IS free!
Second, it is great at resizing, croping and rotating. And it is pretty easy to do these. I like using it for croping and resizing better than SW on my PC.

Check the bottom link in my signature for a run down on viewers and memory usage (looking for efficiencies).

Thanks for the replies guys. I decided to try out XnView. Works great. However when i try to send the photo as an email from XnView through Gmail the recipient only see's a huge long block of about 1,000 numbers and letters with a link to XnView's website.... am I doing something wrong or does this feature not work right? Thanks.

I never even noticed that feature, so I've never used it.

Sorry I couldn't help with that.

I also like XNView, more than Resco - not as powerful but faster and lighter.

I'd save pics & attach them from within Gmail. Do you have the same problem if you set up a different POP account ?
