Magic button is a free task manager that also has a battery meter. The link is in MyPDA.

Also, MyTools has battery bar & memory bar. acbPowerMeter is a good tool to see how much life your battery really has; it will tell you how many mAh have been used (links in MyPDA).

I second the Magic Button. Why install extra software ? You'd need a good task switcher anyway.
