You may want to check out the forums over at WebIS - http://www.pocketinformant.com/Forums/ . Scrolling between weeks/months/days for me is lightning fast. They may be able to help you there. Keep in mind though that it is mostly a user to user forum, so even though the developers pipe in, they may not see or respond to your post(s). However, they do have a dedicated support link should you find that your issue isn't getting resolved. Also, there is a beta version out there that may solve your issue immediately so look for that. Just make sure you register so that you can see the links, etc.

PocketPlus can cause issues - have you tried running without it, to see if PI was still slow? I've NEVER had issues with Pocket Informant - but that's probably because I don't run PI and Pocket+ together at the same time.

I tried pocket+ but it slowed down my x51v ..... so I have PI.....
I can't find the thread (May be because it is early in the morning and the caffeine hasn't kicked in :) )....but I KNOW there are threads on Aximsite where others have had issues with Pocket +.......
Try uninstalling pocket+ (temporarily) and see how you like PI....

Hey Rube,
I'm running PI right now on my X51v. Also running in memory is Total Commander, TCPMP and PocketXPdf. Switching from week to week takes a part of a second. Therefore, I would say that something is up with your Ax. I've encountered lots of slow downs with my WiFi but PI has always been good. Perhaps something in your notification queue is causing a problem or some other software is causing a conflict.

Uhhh...how is he/she going to do that? To register it on the Pocket PC requires a unique registration key (probably based on the owner name of the device). Unless he/she has access to the key generators at WebIS or hacks the programs, selling it on Aximsite won't be an option.

Rube,
Regular computer software is like that too - purchase some software, either at a store (like Best Buy) or online. Most big online vendors won't give you a refund (not that I've seen anyway), and a retail store won't give you a refund either, if the software package is open.
The reason for that is that once you have the registered software on your computer or device, there's no way to assure that it's off your device once the refund is issued. Thus the reason for trial versions of software :).

Yep. Trick is to research before you purchase ! Having said that I frequently ignore my own rules, and have ended up with some programs that don't suit "me" so have wasted my money. But- have some great programs that I use all the time and could not do with out.
Sometimes a program that you bought and paid for and seems not suitable now can full fill a future need- ( and then again maybe not!!) but at the end of the day its not like you just bought the wrong house or something.

Rube,
I have used PI very happily for several years. When I switched to WM5 all of a sudden it became slooow. My biggest complaint was the startup speed (abt 10-13 sec) but browsing between months sometimes got sluggish, too.
As I found out, there are two main factors.
First, WM5 is by itself slower than WM2003, and WebIS basically said they can't do anything about it. Whether or not it's all OS fault or the software code is also to blame is an open question, for me.
Second, the database size is very important. I used to sync all my appointments (about 3000 spanning 5 years), when I switched to syncing only 3 months it became much faster.
In your case, I'd suggest syncing only a few months of past appointments. Also, I'd use Month View, not Week View, for browsing days. It's both faster and easier to read information from. You can zoom in on a week in Month View by tapping your stylus on a day and dragging it to other days you want to see.
Finally, take a look at Pocket Breeze at www.sbsh.net, it may or may not work out better for you (that's what I ended up using). Just make sure to use trial this time ;)

I'd guess Pocket+ is slowing you down. I have Wisbar Advance (similar program) and finally deleted it because it was slowing down my Axim too much. I'm now using Pocketbreeze and iLauncher which do everything that I need. I've tried PI a few month back but it didn't have the all functionality I was used from Datebk5 on the Palm so I've not bought it yet.

Thanks for the response!
Two questions: How do I limit the time span of the sync process? Also, is there a way to delete a recurring appointment wilthout deleting its appearance retroactively (ie only from today on). Thanks

If you want to delete from this day on, , just edit the recurrence pattern and set it to end on today. This resets all past recurrences to "default" value, so if you have a modified individual recurrence (i.e. you edited one of many recurrences of same appt in the past) you may want to use the "Branch series" function in PI (it "breaks off" the series).
