If your computer has good security software, and you practice "safe use" of your device, then I'm not sure it's necessary yet.

Viruses are not an issue for Windows Mobile devices. Don't worry about it right now.

Don't forget that it's easy to "clean up" even IF you end up getting a virus (unlikely at this point). Just hard reset and you're back to factory state. Be sure to have regular backups though.

You don't really need anti-virus...but a good backup program is a must :)

Two that get good reviews
Sprite backup http://www.spritesoftware.com/sprite-backup
Spb backup http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/backup/?en

I have spybot s&d on my axim, for all the time I've had it it's never found anything, if your using it for business, you should also have a good encryption program (unless if you're from France :))

I don't believe in atheists therefore atheists don't exist.

even on PC if you got a good firewall and you don't go into deep dark corners of the internet or open mail attachments - no antivrius is needed.

I have access to antivirus software for PPCs through my office and I tried the McAfee version for a few days just to see how much of a resource hog it was... Take my word for it, you don't want it on your device... Given the "nonexistent" threat, it's a big time waste on a PPC...

I have Airscanner Antivirus on mine. It works well, and it's free, too. Just DON'T get the Airscanner firewall. It's the worst resource hog I've ever seen.

I think that any self respecting virus would take one look at active sync and go "man, thats just not worth the trouble to deal with" and leave. Hey mayby A.S. is good for something after all....
