Open windows explorer, find the doc you want, copy it.
Navigate to the folder you want to put it in (mobile device/etc) in windows explorer, paste the file.
It should open a box saying converting or something to that effect and then it should be on your ax.
Try opening and see what happens.
Thanks Box:) Guess what...it works with my old word 03 documents but does not convert my 07 Word documents, that's what you get for keeping up with technology I'm thinking there is a glitch somewhere in 07 word,, my hp 6110officejet printer does not scan to 07 word, as of a couple weeks ago hp did not develop a driver for the printer that is compatible with 07.
Does anyone use 07 word succesfully transferring files?
SoftMaker does not charge for minor updates. I have been using the program for more than three years. The 2004 version was updated many times and they were all free. The 2007 version is the newest and there have been updates to that as well and no charge was assessed. They gave me a significant discount for updating. A $50 word full featured processor is hard to beat (unless you use OpenOffice, hard to beat free). They often do discount promotions and you can also find it on e-bay. The desk top version is also nice to have. TM files open faster on the PPC and they are smaller in size. I load a copy of the PC version on to my SD card. TM for PC will run right off of the card and does nothing to the registry on the host computer. Before you disparage it give it a test drive.
It means, open word and then click open, and it will look for files that it can open.
Sorry the previous reply sounded so elementary, I guess what I was suggesting was a deeper reason why Word Mobile was not recognizing any of my sent 07 documents........
It's just so odd that the file explorer recognizes the file sent to the intended folder, other 03 documents in the folder open with Word Mobile, but lo and behold Word Mobile is not identifying the 07 documents that have been sent to me-ole Axim as indicated by the file explorer, in other words the documents are in My Personal folder in My Documents as indicated by storage space used[70.1k] as an example of one document, But try and open it and all you get is that nasty
BUBBLE!!!! :iconbangh

The new default format in Word 07 is '.docx'
Microsoft changed it for some reason.
A friend of mine sent me a document in this format and I could not open it with either Word 03 or OpenOffice.org 2.0.
When I asked him about it he said that he forgot to change the format for me, he changed the format, sent the file again, and the problem was solved.
I hope this helps.

Had to change the Format extension to the 03 version and I have a document to be viewed on my axim :icon_band ....Look out everyone ,buy stocks in Sandisk!!!
For any who need to know just resave the document in the Save to task....and click on the change format icon.....when you get there it gives you several choices ...I just chose the one that worked for me which was word 03 ...interestingly when I went to Windows Explorer it then listed the document as compatable.:)
