I was very hopeful of it working on youtube but no cigar. We'll it almost does. It starts streaming but gets Very stuttery and then hangs my AX. Tried three times and same each time.

Not yet directly. See however http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/ind...&c=1&tb=1&pb=1
"To redirect the cache, put the Cache Directory4=\<Directory> row in the [ User Prefs ] section of opera.ini. (This entry doesn’t exist by default in there.)"
(Also see the third row of the Cache section in the comparison chart of my forthcoming article.)

I have been an opera fan since i first used it.
I am getting "WINDINGS font" rather than text in my search bar and textboxes! What is up with that. I soft reset and uninstalled and reinstalled, but it still does this. It won't stop me from using opera, but I hope they fix it very, very soon.
Where do I report bugs?

Does anyone know about the problem with gmail and opera that I outlined above - that on the x51v, it does not render anything to the right of the screen - so that when you scroll across, there is nothing there (this is in standard HTML mode, with desktop style viewing).

I've just added a "YouTube" column to the comparison chart.

Menneisyys thanks for the links.
The feedback on youtube streaming appears to be mixed. Those who got it running well can you let us know your hardware and what free memory you have before and during the stream.
I have the X51v - CPU on auto - 20mb RAM with Opera running.

I'm running on an x51v with 20.59MB available with Opera running, WisBar Advance 2.8.0.3, and nothing else in the background as a task. It loaded partly, then froze after a second or two of stuttering, requiring a soft reset.

Menneisyys Guru!, I have simple needs for a web browser just abit beyond PIE.
All I need is to view webpages, resized on the small X50V.
I have been happy with Opera 8.60u2 and tried 8.65b.
But for both Opera, when I view long html pages, as I scroll, garbage text will start to appear. (the previous text not cleared from screen, new text is comes over it!)
Anything, what I can do about it?
thanks... I hope this is not too much to ask of Opera.

Update: Now instead of locking up, after installing Flash Lite 2.1 and then Flash Player 7 for PPC (in that order), Youtube just crashes the browser. Can't see embedded videos still (the page shows nothing in that case), and this behavior occurs even after a soft-reset with 23.97 MB of RAM free after Opera's loaded.
Yes, I'm in Desktop Mode with 50% zoom as prescribed in the YouTube-related links listed in the comparison table on WinMobileTech. :D I've also turned it to "Identify as Desktop Computer" when doing this. Doing so with "Handheld Device" as the identifier... well, this is interesting. RAM is at 21.63MB available, but at 50% zoom it works without any freezes for the first 30-40 seconds - and locks up RIGHT afterwards. Then after about a minute it unlocks again. Don't see the Controls though, even with the Desktop Mode on.
Bringing Zoom up to 75% still doesn't show the video controls, however. Similar issues as above, but instead of freezing.. it crashes Opera.
Update #2: If I watch a 30-second clip instead of the 1:58 clip that crashed the program, I -can- see the controls at 75% zoom in Desktop mode, and the clip will play. Trying a 2:31 minute clip, however, causes a similar crash, and I'll find a 4MB file in the Application Data/Volatile area; this seems to be RAM related, or else Opera just can't handle buffering larger files. On the upside, Flash Lite's a very dandy SWF player - better than Bryce or any of the payware interfaces for playing SWF files ever were.
Update #3: If I zoom down to 50%, then larger files like the 2:31 minute clip CAN be played... but you have to 'Show All' to show the video controls at this level of zoom.

Here (freshly hard reset x51v A12, no additional stuff running in background and have ONLY installed the MM7 plug-in) the videos I've thrown it at worked, but, of course, slowly and with stuttering sound.

That's bad news - this problem was exactly the same on the WM2003SE x50v. I don't think it can be helped (except for upgrading to WM5, that is).

At 50% zoom, no stutter in sound.
