I can't for the life of me work out how to create a hyperlink in SpreadCE. Or In Excel Mobile. Either one would be O.K.
I want to be able to link one cell to an image file.
Anyone out there know how to do this.

In SpreadCE click the cell that you want to add the link. Tap Insert and then Function..., scroll down to Lookup & Ref (in the category box) and then Hyperlink in the Name box.
Just type the location of the .jpg file in the first part and the text that you want displayed in the Friendly Name
I don't have SpreadCE but for EXCEL on PC you Select the cell or shape and select Hyperlink from the Insert menu, or right click on the cell or shape and select Hyperlink from the pop up menu.
Perhaps check menu on ppc under format or insert?

Mmmmmm...................
Ok, I have managed to embed a .jpeg in a .xls workbook and transfer that to the Axim. When the workbook is opened using SpreadCE, the .jpeg file can be seen as an embedded object and formatted as such. That's the good news; the bad news is that I can't replicate that on the pda (it has to be done on the pc).
More bad news: I can't reference the picture using the Hyperlink function in SpreadCE, I get a File Format not recognised error message.
I'm guessing that you're trying to create a sort of database with links to files: if that is right, there may be better options via a pocket Access type file such as DataontheRun

I think that it's because the directory structure doesn't read the same way as on a desktop.
The only way to do what you want is to write a macro that opens the client program (some sort of picture viewer), reads the file address and opens it. I just don't think that I'm that clever
On a pc it would be easy: but then again, you wouldn't need to write a macro for it on the pc.
But the problem with my access database is that it is massive and I didn't really feel like trying to work out all the pocket form etc. My DB is able to export an excel in one click and several of the people I work with have a real fear of anything that isn't in excel.
The problem that I have found with dataontherun etc is that they can't sync easily with a db that is reading data from many different tables.
And then, can you link the records to images as well?
