Aximsitex50icon Viewing TV on Axim

Greetings:

Other than Orb, does anyone have a suggestion for watching live TV on the Axim?? I tried Orb but could not get conflicts fixed. (emailed Orb a number of times and got no responses but since they're free I understand).

Any help is appreciated.

Asher

In addition to Slingbox, you can also try using Windows Media Encoder or VLC but the learning curve on these are much higher.

Slingbox suggestion

i agreee, slingbox is cool. I should have added I'm trying to find a non-hardware solution like Orb. Slingbox would be something down the line for me......

Thanks,

Asher

No, that's not the point of Slingbox. Slingbox is a hardware solution.

I posted a tutorial a while ago explaining how to use vlc as a streaming server for anything including live TV. It should be able to send the stream over the internet too but I never got around to testing it. I can't see any reason why it would not work. Check out my post here:

Two additional options for viewing TV on your Axim...
- mobitv.com (not free but works well from what little I've seen)
- pdahomepage.com (Online TV and Radio section)

Are you looking to watch live TV?

I download a little video (podcasts) from iTunes and watch on my Ax at lunch (on TCPMP).

Live TV!

http://www.channelchooser.com/mobile.php

Tons of cable tv channels online. Works well on my x50v. Can get a bit choppy via wireless.
