Problem reinstalling Pocket e-Sword (no devotionals)

I had previously installed Pocket e-sword, but when I had to wipe out my Axim x50 I had trouble. It would ask for the bible files, as in this thread ...
Quote:
No Pocket e-Sword resources located in '\Program Files\Pocket e-Sword'
So I had to uninstall e-sword. It then complained about 3 TTF files in use, so I deleted them from \windows\fonts\*.ttf. Then e-sword uninstalled.

I reinstalled e-sword to "\program files", and then installed the bibles to "\sd card\pocket e-sword", and when I started the program it asked for the folder. I navigated to the folder on the SD card, and e-sword started up with a bible.

The problem now is that I went to install a devotional the same way (hoekstra's), but the "Devotional" menu item in the "View" menu in e-sword is grayed out. How do I fix this? Do I need to reinstall e-sword and then install all the bibles and devotionals before I run it? Any help is appreciated.

If you start over step by step its pretty simple and straightforward. I don't know if you want to go back that far. If so make sure e-sword is uninstalled. Download Esword to main memory. (It will ask which area you want to install). Download all other esword literature to SD card. (again it will ask where you want these books installed.

I assume you have a high speed connection so it really doesn't take that long to get a couple on the axim.

It will also ask for the resource location. Links are found on this site to do that.

Make sure you first install the file s.wce4.armv4.CAB that comes with e-Sword (there are two CAB files). I installed everything on my SD card and everything works thus far.

So, just reinstall everything? This is essentially the procedure I tried to get it working in the first place, except that I did the resource location thing before I put the devotional there. Do I need to have the devotional in place before I do that step? Right now e-sword works and reads the bibles, but the "devotional" part is grayed out.

I only used the installer .EXE file that I downloaded from the e-sword site. It did an automatic install through ActiveSync, so I didn't deal directly with any CAB files. Do I still need to bother about this extra CAB file, or would the installer have done that already? Thanks.

I first installed the ppc files on my windows first. I then went into the installation folder and then copied the two CAB files to my ppc SD card. From then on, even if I hard reset my ppc, I can just install the two CAB files, thus bypassing windows.

So you did get a bible on startup. You must have the two CAB files installed on your ppc already.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the CAB files are installed correctly, as the program itself and the bibles are working. However, the devotionals are not, and that's what I can't figure out. The devotionals were installed after the bibles, so I was thinking maybe you have to install them all at once?

You don't have to install them all at once. As far as I noticed when adding modules to this program your PC doesn't install the modules it just copies them to your PDA. Have you checked the folder on your SD Card to see if the devotionals are in there? If they're not then send them over and if they are there, delete them from the folder and then re-send them over.

P.S. Are you sure that you installed the devotionals in the same resource folder as the bibles? If not then maybe the program just can't find them.
