Wififofum 2.2.8

Last night I noticed this new version of wififofum.

Version 2.2.8 Released 19th April 2007

* Null characters removed from SSID in the name tag in KML exporter, Google Earth needs this.
* Lat/lons in the exported file formats now use decimal points for all regional settings. This is required for Google Earth.
* GPS performance improved and you should see less CPU utilisation.

Download the .cab or installer here

WiFiFoFum????

What is it exactly, is it like a Wi-Fi radar? Telling me where the signal is coming from?

Hitchhiker alternative??? *lost*

Something like that. It scans for WiFi AP's and lists them in a table. If you have a connected GPS it will also record the Lat/Lon of your position when the AP was detected.

It works well and best of all it's free. I wish they would improve the installer so it doesn't require the uninstall of a previous version thru Windows Add/Remove Programs. Then to make matters worse, the program is listed as WiFiFoFum and when the uninstall process launches ActiveSync, the program is listed as Aspecto Software WiFiFoFum.

Thanks for the heads-up on the wacky uninstall. I would have botched it.
