Hey..

Have you found any useful software programs for Law Enforcement?? I would love something like my state statutes or a drug ID program to install on my Axim.

I, too, would like to know about law enforcement related programs for the Pocket PC. Right know, I use searchable databases I have created in access or excel, such as frequently used statutes and field contacts. Which of course means I had to enter all the information myself. This is very time consuming.

I had the CA penal and vehicle codes on my old clie, as well as a field interview program. I used it a lot until it got smashed in a "little scuffle." I have not seen anything for pocket pc yet.

Crossroads Software

I have used thier software on my old handspring to take collision reports in the field and then downloaded when I got to the station.

Pocket PC

Just to let anybody know that maybe interested. I'm in the process of launching my web-site to market an application I developed for the street cop. I'm a 12 year veteran of the force and have put alot of time into this application. It pretty much replaces the old pocket notebooks that we carry around. The best benefit is that everything you enter is completely searchable! Date of birth, names, social security numbers, DL's and so on. Everything you enter into your pocket pc can be syncronized onto your desktop, as long as you have Microsoft access. You can even have pictures along with the names. I would post the web-site, but, that hasn't been established yet. Give me a few weeks and I'll post it as soon as it's done. By the way, it's not just for the street cop. detectives and brass have some specialized apps in the sub menus.

DDHSoftware have a lot of databases in law enforcement for their product. Under "category" look for Law Enforcement. You have to buy the product, but some of the databases are then free.
