I am lost without this little utility. And guess what? It is not 2K3 compatible-yet. I emailed Omega One and this was their response:

Anyone know if this has been resolved yet? I downloaded and installed the demo Journal Bar on my brand new Axim X5 PPC2003 and it does not appear to exactly work - I can browse the web and even click on some of the links such as sports scores and it brings me to a web page but no weather nor any info is displayed in the actual bar. . .the blue e just continues to blink. . .I don't see any patches available on their web site.

This sound about par for the course? Or is my problem likely something else?

No word on an update yet. However, I did recently reinstall Journal Bar, just for giggles. It seems to work fine now. I have the weather and everything. I just don't understand it.

Yes also have Journal Bar, and the IC Bar on my 2003 Axim X5, second unit. The first one would not let you install programs until you downloaded the specific file to the CF card, and then could install from the unit. The new unit let me just install directly from the desktop unit itself. Was surprised to see the weather bar, and like it. Also made sure the program was specifically for 2003, of which there are a few out there. Programs that is. Found it on Handango if that helps any! :D

I just took a look at the OmegaOne website to see if an update has been released yet. It says that Journal Bar is compatible with PPC 2K2 and 2K3. My weather isn't updating, though. Hmmm....

I'd like to pick up on this journal bar when I get to the US and pick up my AX - This will be my first time loading it so I have 3 questions...

Can it be loaded and ran together with Battery Pack?

Will Journal Bar give the weather forecasts in Europe - Spain persay - I know it asks for the zip code for the weather but I didn't notice anything about choosing country and then zip in the screen shots or info on the OmegaOne site...

Last - It checks stocks - But does it track currencies? Euro/Dollar for example...

Journal Bar can be used with Battery Pack.

You can get weather forecasts for other countries, but I don't see Spain in the list. It looks like you choose a country from the list and then you choose the city that is closest to you.

As far a tracking currency goes, I don't see a way to do that. Anyone else?

**I just checked the OmegaOne website and was reminded that you can add custom webpages. Not exactly what you are looking for, but if you know an website that tracks currency, you could set that up.

That would be great if one day they did one day provide both Spain weather and currencies - Maybe there is another program that does...but I prefer to use both programs in concert as they come from the same place...

For now I'll go with the Battery Pack... :)

You can modify the links page and could feasably add a currency tracking site to Journal bar. It uses various websites to gather information and can be customized.

Journal Bar will check currencies, as long as you compare it to USD. In other words it wont check Euro/Indian Rupie.
