Uses for List Pro
Who uses List Pro or another List software? I was just wondering what you all use it for. Right now I'm using it for a shopping list, an ultimate todo list(things to do before i die) and a timesheet for my job. I know it has many other uses I'd just like some ideas on which ones to try.

I tried listpro but decided it was too hard to use. All in all I tried about 8 different list programs. I wanted a few features beyond basic listing, so I settled on Trenotes and bought it, both PPC version and desktop PC version.
It will do a simple hierarchal list, like a "tree" list. It will allow you to assign different icons, checkboxes, completion status bars, etc. It allows different ordering of the list according to dates, completion, etc. It does a lot, but these features don't get in the way of using it for basic lists. One illustration of how easy and powerful the program is is that some programs like this use themselves to write their own user manual.
I saw a recommendation recently for ADB Idea Library which on the surface looks similar to Trenotes, but it is freeware. I may try it just for grins. Other commercial programs that I liked were ListTree and PocketList. If you want a program like this for your desktop PC, you can find versions of Treepad that are freeware.
As for what I use Trenotes for-
I use it for my "todo" list for general items as well as for specific work and home projects. I also use it to keep track of information for a couple of my hobbies.
If you have other programs that you are interested in, I can tell you if I have any comments on them or not. I was actually interested in another program first, but when I started entering data into it I found that it did not work as advertised, and was not supported by the developer.

It's easy. I am cataloging CD's, DVD's, and episodes of TV shows that I download. It acts as an episode guide.

As an operations manager, I have found many uses for ListPro that works out much better for me than using Outlook's Tasks or Notes. I use ListPro with Ulti-Planner to keep track of various things:
-list set up (M-F) for daily tasks needed to keep the place running
-monthly lists Jan-Dec for upcoming projects
-each manager has been assigned as a 'list' for their weekly/monthly projects (their 'to do' list that I need to track)
-monthly list set up for contractors on when they are expected in our building and what they need to take care of
- fire/saftey checklist used for a monthly walkthrough
-lists for IT equipment inventory & maintenance
-list (by month) of how my department has saved the company $$ (need this kind of info for my yearly review)
These are just a few of the things I use ListPro for. I love having this tool for work purposes. With 14 managers and 10 departments to keep track of, ListPro has been great at helping to keep me organized. I play around with it a bit but not too much as I have a system set up that works for me.
As for home lists....I haven't gotten around to using it too much for 'around the house' things. Honestly, by the time I get home from work, I don't want to see another list. My creative side needs some breathing room. If it's something major or out of the ordinary, I'd make a list. But, for every day things I've been doing my whole life, I don't need a list for it :)
But, you do have a great idea about having a list of the things you want to do(before you die). I seem to say that a lot lately..."I'd like to do blah blah before I die"....That would be a good thing to make a list of....and even better to actually do it :)
Let me know if you are aware of any applications that would be good for keeping an inventory on IT equipment. When I had a Palm, there used to be an application that I used (can't remember the name of it--thought it was made by a company called ThinkingBytes). But, I haven't had too much luck in finding one for the Axim. Maybe I just haven't been looking in the right place (?). If you know of one, please let me know. THANKS!

Was called ThinkDB for the Palm. Relational database that synced to Access. I used it alot.
Equivalents for PPC is Sprintdb, HandBase, Visual CE.
Sorry, don't have the url links, but search this board for user comments.
