I've been looking far and wide for a tea timer and can't find one and was wondering if any of you know where I can find one? I know I could use a countdown timer (I've got StopTime) but what I'm really looking for is an app where I can input my different teas and their steep times, and then tap the tea type and have it count down for me. Tea is a little more complicated than Lipton tea bags for me. :)
I've got an app for this on my desktop, but it'd be great to have one for my Ax. Freeware or payware is fine....more than willing to pay for a good app.
Thanks so much,
Monkey

AxiMonkey....I get a kick out of some of the threads you start....like this one, for instance. I would have never even thought of an app like this. In the first sentence I thought you might have been talking about some kind of golf application and just got the spelling of the word 'tee' a bit goofed up. Turns out, you were actually talking about teA :)
Could you please tell me the name of the program on your PC that does this. I would be happy to poke around and try to find something for you. I love a challenge :)
Hehehe....hi janine. Glad I provide so much entertainment. :)
The app that I have is one that I got from a company whose tea I was introduced to by a friend. They are located at www.adagio.com and if you click the small link toward the top of the homepage for Timer, it takes you to a download site.
Of course, it comes bundled with the times of most of their own teas, but you can add your own personal teas as well. Then it stores all of these, and you can just select the tea you are currently having, click start, and it will count down the time for that particular tea.
Thanks for offering to give it a shot! Like I said, I've looked as many places as I can--freeware sites, searched here, all my other PPC sites, I've Googled it....everything. Am I the only PPC owner that enjoys a good cup of tea that has been brewed and steeped to perfection?? :)

My wife is a teacher of tea and tea services (English) but she's never heard of one. If you find one, please let me know. Personally, my favorite is Keemun, and 3 minutes will do nicely, thank you.;)
well, so far, it appears as if you would have to buy a Palm in order to have perfectly brewed tea....and, see AxiMonkey....JakeRich's wife is a teacher of tea so I'm not giving up hope just yet. Palm users can't be the only ones out there!

It would appear that they are....well, them and Mac and Linux users. Mac OS and most Linux distributions come with a tea timer....I guess just an odd little quirk to set them apart or something. Hmmm....dunno. Maybe I'll have to toss a link to this thread over in the developer forum?!?!?! :p

Are you serious?!?!?!? You're awesome!!!!! Thanks so much!!! Honestly--that's one of the coolest things I've seen someone do in quite some time. It's people like you that make this site what it is.
*and to also give credit where it's due even though I can't stand them.....great pun!!! :)

Hey, if you're serious, Silent Knight, make it so we can put in the type tea and time and store it in a database somehow. Just like the Tea Timer from adagio.
Man, that is so awesome! My wife will finally see an application she can use!
