Does any one know if there is any software that will allow you to use your axim as a network cable tester?

Not sure if you would need anything on the other side of the cable. There are some cable testers that will only check your side of the cable.

oh, Sorry, I havent seen any software like that. But hang on someone else might have. There are tons of people on this site that are great resources by themselves. Add it all up and someone will have your answer or tell you it's not possible unless you make it yourself. Well, goodluck and welcome to aximsite!!!

As far as I know they aren't any cable testers yet, but there are network analyzers. There's www.epiphan.com with ceniffer and www.cam.com with vxsniffer.

I haven't seen a cable tester.

For sniffers don't forget Air Scanner Mobile (http://www.airscanner.com/mobile)

I wouldn't expect it to testthe cable itself vs just the connection.

Ping the machine and find out if it is propery connected and responding.

You would have to have the hardware designed and hard-wired for that.

You have to pull cables but I have one. Works great!
