Has anyone got any freeware/shareware solutions to provide a password when you switch the Axim back on?

yes but that does not activate when i press the power button. I want something that locks the PDA as soon as I press the power button to switch it off, or does this just put it into sleep mode?

That's what I use and it works fine for me. It comes up after I power back on. The trick is that you must set the "prompt if device not used" to x amount of minutes. I have mine set to five minutes. If you power back on before five minuts then it's not passworded. Anything after five minutes and it locks people out.

I have mine set for 0 minutes so it asks for a password EVERY time.
