problem during Microsoft reader activation

I have upgrade my AX to A03, and found I cann't activate the microsoft reader. I do as microsoft adivsed to do, on my AX I get the confirmation"microsoft reader activation had been download and installed successfully". I can find a program named "microsoft activation" in "start>settings>system>remove programs" on my AX. But when I open the reader it still tell me my microsoft reader isn't activated.

Please help me with this problem.

It is my falt to write "microsoft reader had been download and installed successfully", it should be "microsoft reader activation had been download and installed successfully". I have edit my post.

I had went to microsoft's website, and download activation to my AX, but it still don't work.

Hmm... I'de go with a hard reset (I sound like a Dell CSR huh?)... then reinstall Reader and do the activation.
I have to say I havent had a problem with updating and activating Reader on the PPC so I'm a bit at a loss. I've even had two different Reader versions installed and activated on the same PPC...
I hope you can get Reader up and working.

Thank you very much, wired Pig. I hate to have a hard reset, if it is the only way, I will try it a few days later.

I had a problem reactivating my Microsoft Reader after I had done a hard reset. I was getting the error that the reader could not open the E-Book even though it showed up in the library. I also was showing two reader help files in the library. I contacted Microsoft and finally got it fixed.

If you have installed the reader in the storage memory or on a flash card you will have to uninstall it. Also uninstall the Microsoft activation then do a warm reset. When you install it again, choose the default directory as your option. You will probably see the Axim ask if you want to overwrite files, choose yes. To see if you have the newest reader loaded, open it and go to "Settings" and choose "about Microsoft Reader". You should see that you have version 2.2.2.

When I installed it to the storage memory or to the flash card, I was not overwriting the older version of the Reader and hence I could not open my books up.

I hope this helps at least a little.

Thx fujiinator. I have tried twice following your distruction. But the problem is the same. Maybe a hardreset is the only thing I can try.

What I did, although Reader was already installed and activated in my Axim, was go to www.microsoft.com/reader, select Update, then download the Reader (2.2.2 I think), and when it was installed I selected Activate. I waited for the Activation from within this page, which it took about 10 secs. After that, all was well.........

Hey, have you tried uninstalling the Reader completely, and then installing from the site ?

Damn.......well, looks like you hit a brick wall there......if you really want to use Reader, then you *probably* have to do a hard reset (and dont include the Reader in the backup).....

Have you tried uninstalling and then deleting everything manually ? I cannt imagine why this should be giving you such a hard time.....:crooked:
