Help setting up Pocket Hack Master

Just got a copy of Pocket Hack Master (2.34, I think it is)...

Not sure what I'm doing wrong... I tried both of the premade Axim profiles, but on running pocket tv, i saw no improvement at all performancewise...

any hints on how to set this thing up? I'm really hoping to enjoy the promised improved performance.

btw, im running an x250, 400 mhz model.

There is tons of information on programs, settings and results in the threads about overclocking and setting the PXBus to 200MHz. Search for "overclocking", "o/c" and "pxbus", and you'll come up with these threads ;)

He's running the Px250 model... If I recall, those won't clock to 200Mhz internally... but I could be wrong. I think they also used slower RAM on those models...

I don't how much extra performance you are going to get.

If you "just got a copy" of 4.34 (I noticed you didn't say just purchased), you probably have a cracked version, as 4.34 is the cracked version I see most frequently floating around the net.

It is also very out of date... so if you do have that version, you may want to try getting a copy of a recent, legal version, which properly supports the AXIM.

If you just got the version number wrong in your post... then ignore this.

And *PLEASE*, I do not want 100 PM's asking me where you can go and download cracked versions of software. Just because I see the stuff out there, does not mean I engage in or condone software piracy, nor will I assist others in engaging in it.

In those threads he could find all the info he wants about overclocking in general, not only about the bus ;)
Besides, some people have reported succesful o/cing of the Basic model, some others have reported failures.......so each to his own....

Can't remember the exact version # right now, but all I know is that 2.43 is the one listed on pocketgear.com as being updated on august of 2003. I'm assuming I have the most recent version (I wont comment on your aspersions).

The program has 3 pre-made profiles for the dell Axim... one for the X3, and two for the X5... so I'm assuming these should work for me... maybe not. I dont know... it all seems rather complicated... I have no idea about overclocking or changing bus speeds or what have you. I just assumed it would work with the profiles turned on. Oh well...

thanks anyway.

Manual Settings

Try to play around with the manual settings in pocket hack master, I have the same version as as you (2.34) and it works fine on my basic x5 w/ pxa250. A huge improvment in snes games.

Pocket Hack Master comes with a manual that explains how to make the settings.

Pocket gear is currently selling v 2.45

If you have any questions you can ask the creator himself in the forum for PHM.
