Question THE Image Viewer for Axim

Ok, so far I have been across with

PDAMill Viewer {Previously Peter's Viewer v2.5}
Resco Image Viewer {Seems to be FREE @ Dell CD}
DAVA Image
What is your preferred viewer, and why? Is there any other one, that you use, free or not, and what do you like best about it.

I will be testing these three out this evening. What I do w/my Images; They are mainly comic strips, view them with the Pocket Explorer on Windows Mobile 2003. What I need is one that will allow me to view images in
1) Full Screen
2) View next image on the folder/list with a tap on the image I am viewing
3) Option to stretch/resize automatically and fix the zoom.

On my images w/Axim, no editing is involved. What I need is basically [a]ACDSee for Pocket PC.ACDSee for PPC &(ACDSystems PC Version )
I just love this sofware's version 3. (v4 and v5 was a little over their heads, but still the best darn viewer for PC in my opinion). ;)

Thanks.

I love the Resco one because the interface works really great for me. I often put a CF card from my digital camera into my PDA, and the "Browser CF card" option works pretty well with that.

I just tried PDAMill, it is not bad at all, it had what I need, such as next/previous with the dial control on side..:D

DAVA crashes on load. (WM03 / 400Mhz)

Will try Resco and ACDSee later.

I too, prefer Resco and it's free on the Dell CD.

There's 40% off the newest Resco Picture Viewer (only for Axims) over at handango.com. There's mention of this in the 'members discount' section of these forums (also a nice review).

I have been using ACDSee for the desktop for years... found v1 of the PPC version and LOVE IT... plain and simple, just display images.. all types.

Yes little, I am with you on ACDSee on PC's. However I found PPC version to be a little less related to PC version. I mean where is click to move on.. You just tap and it stays the same, and also the zooming is not as fast as others. I think PDAMill is a winner for me now, that of course is until I try resco.

Thanks. ;)

Just installed the Resco Viewer provided in the CD. Been using PDAMill viewer as I didn't realise there's a picture viewer provided in the CD :p! I've tried the Resco viewer and found that although PDAMill viewer is good in its simplicity, resco has more functions like adding text, audio, blah blah blah onto the picture. The downside is that it's pretty slow as I guess it taking up more resource.....If the individual needs more than just viewing pictures, Resco is the one to go with.

Just a thought

It turns out even the resco on the CD is a trial version... Why not use the upgraded newly available one from the site, rather than the one on CD..( Old version, i assume)

I haven't had the CD version of Resco Picture Viewer on my Ax for a while (bought the newest version) but I know that it is the FULL version. It will never expire and works quite well considering it's free. I do like the new version due to it's improved interface and faster load times. You can also view Power point slides and view mpeg movies with it.

For basic viewing, PDAMill Viewer works just fine. I didn't like DAVA however (the zooming was messed up and garbled the picture). I like Resco cause I can make slide shows to show off my gorgeous 2 year old daughter to my coworkers (I know, I'm humble).

That's nice. :) However, the waye Image Viewer that comes with WM03 would do just great if it had the scrolling or previous/next features.. Because the way it zooms and the way it shows the little image to the side when it is zoomed, it is great. My only complain is that when it is zoomed like 75% it looks pixelized and hard to read. But at full %100, it has a great quality, even on my 1.4MB 4Mpixel images.. :whoa: :)

Resco is good but try browsing a folder with over 300 pics, it sits there taking forever to load! DAVA seems to load up the pics much faster.. I'll have to give pdamill a try next, as well as acdSee (which I used to use on pc years back and it was a great app)
