I think i know what you are looking for. I found a theme that let's you use your fingers (or stylus-free) called PhatPhingers.

He developed it for qVGA but I think there is a VGA version out there now.

The Marsware forum is still active.

Currently I've got it on my X30 and think its great! Best Theme I've had since KenS' Vista Theme (another good one just not finger friendly).
