HP48 Emulator with 2003?
It seems that there is a common problem with PocketPC 2003 and the HP48 emulator. I've heard others mention the problem but haven't seen any solutons. The GNU licence screen shows for a fraction fo a second and then the program (apparently) exits. Has anyone gotten Leo Castillo's EMU48 to work on their Axim with 2003?
If not, I'll email Leo directly, but I wanted to find out if there's a simple fix that I don't know about (Axim newbie).
Thanks,
OZT

Solution in german language
I have exactly the same problem, so I searched the net looking for answers. It came in German language. I will post it even thogh I don't understand a word of it. Probably someone can help !!!
Hallo,
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Emu48]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Emu48\Serial]
"Ir"=""
"Wire"=""
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Emu48\Emulator]
"GXCycles"=dword:0000007b
"SXCycles"=dword:00000052
"RealSpeed"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Emu48\KML]
"AlwaysDisplayLog"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Emu48\Port2]
"Filename"=""
"IsShared"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Emu48\Files]
"Delay"=dword:00000001
"AutoSaveOnExit"=dword:00000001
"AutoSave"=dword:00000000
"Emu48Directory"="\\Programme\\Emu48"
Anchließend funktioniert der Emulator auch auf X-Scale/PPC 2003 tadellos.

Hmmmm, I though I replied to this thread with a positive report a while back, but I don't see it here.
Anyway, it does work, though the exact data entries have to match your locality (program files vs programme).
Another question: Is it typical to have the application run veeeerrrrrry slooooooooowwwwwly for key presses? I guess I expected response times closer to the keyboard, or at least the built in calculator. (I'm using a 300MHz X5, but nothing else is running).
Has anyone gotten better response and, if so, did you fiddle with any settings to make it work?

Hp48 Emulator
I have been having the same problem. I have an AXIM X30 2003 Second edition V 4.21.1088(Build 14260.2.0.2) Processor PXA270 (Xscale I believe).
I have tried every version I could get my hands on but keep going back to my HP48G. Could point me to the latest version that is supposed to correct this issue? The one of Leo's didn't work the last time I tried it.
Thanks for you efforts.

Hp48 Emulator error reading keyboard file
I am getting a little farther into execution and can select which kml file. Regardless of which kml file it doesn't load completely.
SimpleGx, Leo 48gx, PPCHorizontal48 error opening keyboard file - fatal error line XXX
Leo 48Gx v. ii indicates it can't load ROM.49G.
Any ideas?
[QUOTE=Ken S]Try this one, working fine on an Ipaq 5555 and on an x51v.

Do you have Roms loaded on your PPC, you need a rom image of the calculator to emulate it. You can download Rom images at hpcalc.org

HP48 Emulator with WM2003SE
I was able to get the PC version working (Graphing didn't seem to work though) using the convert gx...rom ROM.48g.
I tried just placing the gxver.rom into directory without luck and after I got the PC version working I copied ROM.48g to PPC. PPC seems to be expecting ROM.49g - didn't seem to matter if I renamed it to ROM.48g either.
Do you have to load the WM2003 ROMs differently from PC version?

Sounds like the kml file you are loading is to emulate a hp49, not an hp48. Remember that this software can emulate an hp39, hp40, all the different hp48's (S, SX, G & GX) and the hp49. If you are loading an hp49 kml you will need an hp49 rom for it to work. You can download one at hpcalc.org

Do this right and your emu48ppc will run smoothly (no more crashing):
Go to Christoph Gießelink´s page
http://privat.swol.de/ChristophGiesselink/emu48.htm
and download E48MB105 (replacement for our old pal Emu48CE).
There you´ll find an explanation (in English) on how to patch old KML files. I personally downloaded Wombat3 which has a VGA version.

Thanks for the tip, I was already using 105 with Wombat 3, but that screwed up all my other kml files displays. The patched kml files are only for VGA devices correct?

Nop, kml files were originally made for emu48ce (crashing in wm2003), thats why they dont run with emu48ppc (which doesnt crash in wm2003). Therefore you need to modify kml to run with emu48ppc.
The bmp file can be vga or qvga, it just needs to be well routed.
We use wombat3 because with it we dont need to do all that reading, we just load its kml with its bmp and its done.
Here´s a shot of emu48ppc with a qvga frame.
