Aximsitemobileicon fit to page pdf format

My ppc adobe reader works great. Yet there are some pdf downloads meant for a pc where I want these downloads to fit to ppc screen so I don't have to scroll across screen.

"Reflow mode reflows text to fit the display area of your pocket pc. Reflow mode is default viewing mode....... untagged files cannot be reflowed.

Am I wrong here, any ideas, or am i stuck with the scroll bar. Thanks

you're stuck.
ppc version of pdf-reader is very limited in it's ability.
look at the bright-side, at least the pdf-reader is working. that's not the case for quite a few people.

If the PDF file is designed to reflow (that is, reset the margins to fit in a different sized screen, like a pocket pc's screen), then setting the application to reflow will work. Unfortunately many PDF's are not designed to do this.

This is what I do.

I use ActiveSync to send the pdf files to my ppc, an option will pop-up asking me if I want the file to be tagged. It doesn't work for every pdf file that I have sent over but it works for about 97-98 percent of the files. After they have been tagged (a process that is very quick even for large files) the documents display fine on the ppc screen.

Riaxim's comment is interesting. How do you go about doing this?

Using active sync for pdf files that are on the web and tagging them?

The files would actually be on your pc before you sync. What I do is to just drag and drop the pdf files from my pc to the appropriate folder on my cf card on my PDA while it's connected through AS. I send LARGE pdf files and have had a problem with AS not being able to tag the files with the proper information for the reflow function to work. An error window pops up saying unable to tag or something like that. Granted, the files I send to my ppc are copier service manuals consisting of numerous photos and diagrams with up to 1000 pages.

Like srvctec said you have to be transfering a pdf file that is already on your pc. If its convenient for you its a good idea to go this route as it will solve all your display problems. As I mentioned earlier it doesn't work for every file but it works for the vast majority. The largest pdf I ever tagged was 44.4MB and it worked fine but the file didn't have any pictures in it. I've tagged many files that included pictures but they weren't very big.

By tagging you mean to drag a pdf file from pc to the sd card file on pc and then active sync this file to ppc. How does this file get tagged in the process. Thanks

You need to have your PDA connected to your pc with the sd card already installed in the PDA. You need to have Active Sync running while your PDA is connected to your pc. Once this is the case, just click the explore button in Active Sync to browse the files on your PDA. Browse to your sd card installed on your PDA and leave this window open on your pc. Then go to my computer on your pc and browse to wherever the pdf file/s are located on your pc. Leave this window open. Right click, hold and drag the desired pdf file to your sd card installed in your PDA and choose copy. This will cause AS to then tag the file, which means to put the info for proper display, i.e., word wrap (reflow) into the file as it is being copied so you can read the pdf without scrolling right to left.

This is how I do it- YMMV
