Can someone please break down the notifications for me? Recently I just rebuilt all my active sync and reminder notificaitons and they still didnt work. I then deleted all of them and rebuilt only the activesync ones and when I added a test appointment with a reminder it worked fine. I then rebuilt my reminders and now they are working again. WM is driving me nuts this way. You never know when your notifications will work or not.
What are time based vs classic time based? I assume event based is for active sync but can someone break down what calupd and calnot and items like that are? If calupd is an update then will my alarms not work until that update runs? If that is the case is there a way to make the update run like every 1/2 hour? Also, why do I never have a problem with task reminders, only calendar ones?
Anyways if someone can just drop some knowledge on me it would help me greatly. I am using version 2.0 build 95.
Thanks in advance,
Cherryhead25
PS: I just moved from a x51v to a ppc6700 as my primary device (I really miss that VGA screen!), but I wanted to say this forum is the absolute best! Ive been on other forums specifically for my new device and people are extremely RUDE! I have always gotten an answer here. Thanks again.
No one knows what the meanings of the notifications are? I googled it but couldnt find an answer. When I went to Dinarsoft's homepage they said this is the support site. Im just curious for informational purposes and I want to be able to understand how they work so if I have another problem (it's WM so i can assume i will have another problem) I better understand how to resolve it.
Cherry, the notifications are usually things you have scheduled, whether dismissed or not, system events, gwes.exe has encountered an error and has to close. and things like scheduled backups or email downloads. what app are you using?

I'd like to see documentation about the system notifications too, but I've never been able to find any such thing. Many of the notifications get placed there by calendar events, but there are a few system notifications that, if deleted, will cause problems with the pocket pc. Namely there are a couple of ActiveSync notifications that, if deleted, will make it impossible to sync.

Great info. I didn't know that, do you know what notifications in particular. I never use MemMaid in advanced because of things like this. Lack of info.:approve:
These are my own observations and could be deficient or inaccurate.
There are a couple of Replog.exe notifications that are used by ActiveSync. If these notifications are deleted, ActiveSync will not work properly.
System notifications that I know about but can not explain in much detail are calupd.exe, calnot.exe, and clocknot.exe.
Calendar.exe notifications are usually related to calendary entries we post to the pocket pc. These notifications can be deleted and should not harm the pocket pc's working functions at all. Deleting these types of notifications will only prevent reminders from firing.
Some applications that we install to pocket pcs add notifications to the notification queue and deleting those notifications could cause the software application to not function properly.
