Softick Card Export II v3.04 released

Card Export II has been updated to version 3.04.

Version 3.03 was causing file selection dialog boxes to refresh unexpectedly and this led to problems in programs like Resco Explorer 6.10 and even WMP10.

Version 3.04 has fixed this problem.

Maybe gjw or someone else can help me with a Windows-Softick Export II problem.

I use two computers for active sync.
On one of them, when I click on Softick Export II, it no longer brings up the dialog box, found in Windows XP, where you chose what you want this program to associate with. Thus, I never get a Windows Explorer drive dialog box to manipulate.

The program runs OK on the other machine.

So, how do I get the Softick Card Export II 'drive' to re-associate with Windows Explorer?

Sorry, but I'm not understanding the question.
I get no Card Export dialog boxes at all in XP.
I just set my Axim to Card Export mode and then I connect it to the laptop which then recognizes my CF and SD cards as two removable drives in XP -- no manipulation needed.
I think the very first time I connect I get a message down on the laptop's taskbar about a Softick device being found but every time after that I just connect and the 2 new removeable drives appear in My Computer.

OK, I guess that I have a quirky laptop.

Please forgive me if my explanation is more confusing than helpful - one of those things that I know what I mean but will anyone else?

This is one possiblity. In fact it happened to me just this morning when I connected my new Archos 605 160GB player to a Windows computer.

If your computer already has some mapped network drives and then you plug in an external mass storage, as the Softick Export behaves, then occaissionally Windows will assign those same drive letters to the new drives that it has already assigned to a network drive(s).

You need to go into the Window's Disk Management utility and re-assign the new Softick drives to two unused drive letters.

This does not require a reboot, and usually Windows will remember that/those newly assigned drive letter(s) the next time you connect the Softick PDA to your computer.

If you computer does not already have mapped network drives then this will probably be of no help to you; sorry.

You helped!
I opened the Map Drive option and when I went to try Softick Card II again, it gave me the dialogue box, I made the association with Windows Explorer, and it opened as a drive.
Your explanation was flawless! :not_worth
