uninstalling Resco recorder from registry?

I recently tried the resco audio recorder 4.01, and decided it wasn't for me. Usually when I uninstall programs I get rid of everything, but it seems like registry entries for this are not removed. Does anyone know which registry entries there are in all, and are there any simple apps I can use to erase them all?

I can't help you with your registry question, but have you tried using a cleaner utility such as SKTools or MemMaid? There are free demos available. You can also try reinstalling the app, then uninstalling it. If it includes a Today plugin, you may need to disable that first. At least do a soft reset before uninstalling.

Yes do what Gigi said. Reinstall the program then uninstall it using Sktools uninstall utility. You could use the built-in uninstall utility but it isn't very thorough and leaves behind shortcuts, registry entries and sometimes (particularly with today plug-ins) .dll (dynamic link libraries) files.

After the uninstall is complete use a registry editor to search for the Programs name and delete all relevant entries.

Perform a backup first before deleting registry entries.

If cleaning the registry manually makes you uncomfortable then you must accept that you will have to perform a hard-reset eventually as the number of dead registry entries increases.

Can't seem to get rid of the registry entries at all. I manually deleted any registry keys with the string 'Resco' in it. Just to test, I reinstalled resco recorder and it says my trial version has expired. That means something is remaining in the registry.

I'm not trying to escape registering, since I'm already using mnote for recording purposes, and I like the tiny footprint. But I like to totally get rid of all traces of unwanted apps, and this one's giving a headache.

That's the part of any program that seems to be the most difficult to remove. The registry key or file pertaining to trial expiration probably doesn't include the string Resco. It's probably something that only the program it's self can recognize.

That's one of the reasons it's a good idea to do a hard-reset and a clean re-installation of software at least once every six months.
Incidentally you have similar dilemma with a PC.
