Major problme with Microsoft embedded visual basic runtime

Ok, this morning I installed a NFL schedule on my Axim. It said that I needed Microsoft embedded visual basic runtime installed. So I got to Microsofts site, and dload it. Install it, and BAM!!! It wiped out everything on my pocketpc. Everything was gone, when I would click start All that was there was Search, Help, and Today(nothing showing in the Today box.). I tried a couple of soft reboots, and nothing, so I had to do a Hard reboot. Thank goodness for backup, but still a pain. Anyone have any issues like this? It is a brand new Axim, I have had it for a couple of weeks. Running PPC2003, 400mhZ version.

I develop using NSBasic which uses the eVB runtimes. I have never had any issues with it.
I also have a new Axim 400MHz 2003

Make sure this is the link you downloaded the eVB Runtime from...

eVB Runtime for WM2003

If you downloaded the one for PPC2002 (or anything else), then it would possibly give you the problems you describe. So if you didn't download from the link I posted, try downloading it from there and installing.

Yeah, that is the link I got it from. I don't know what happened. I did notice when I installed it asked if I wanted to replace certain files with older files, and I selected no. Almost afraid to try it again. Unless I installed it incorrectly, which I don't really see how I could have.

I'm not sure what the problem could be. I don't have WM2003, but know plenty of people who have installed the WM2003 eVB Runtime.

Ok, maybe I should ask. Is there any one place where I should transfer the .cab file to on my pda, and execute it? I know this probably doesn't matter, but never hurts to ask.

I've always just done them out of My Documents, but shouldn't really matter.

If you mean for PocketPC2002, you shouldn't need the runtime.....VB apps should work just fine.

If you mean WM2003, then just use the link that I provided several posts up in this thread. The reason that you need the runtime in WM2003, is to allow you to run eVB apps that were designed to run under PPC2002.
