Mad Help with audio book player

I just purchased a book from Audible, and now I can’t play it on my Axim x50v because it’s in the .aa file format. I believe I have v03. I tried to download the reader on my Axim from the site but I kept getting an error. I did read the posting but could not figure it out. I downloaded the MortPlayer, but still can’t get it to play. I downloaded the book in format 2, 3, and 4 and I still can’t play the book. Please help!!! If anyone knows what I should download onto my Axim please provide details because I am new at this.

Thanks

I just checked out audibles webpage and it looks like you have to install AudibleManager® on your PC before you install AudiblePlayer® for Handhelds
Microsoft Windows Mobile Devices on your Axim. Then you use AudibleManager® to download Audible audio to your computer, transfer audio from your computer to your mobile audio player, burn audio to CD, listen to Audible audio on your PC and manage audio on your mobile audio player. So you need to download both programs then install the AManager on your PC. Now after syncing your Ax with the PC install the APlayer. Now while still synced use AManager to transfer files to your Ax which you can then play with APlayer.

Thank you, I will try this. I did install AudibleManager. I installed AudiblePlayer, but I couldn't get the book to transfer to my handheld. I will go over your instructions to night and try again.

You don't have to use Audible manager to copy the .aa files over to the device, but you do have to use it to activate the device (one time). After that you can copy your .aa files to your memory card or device as you wish. I use it all the time. I don't know why they want to limit PPC's to type 3 files. type 4 sounds much better and our devices can play them just fine! (horse-power wise)

Everytime I try to installed AudiblePlayer I get an error. How do I use it to activate my device? Once I copy my .aa files to my memory card, how will I play them? Do you only us Format 3? Please help, Thanks.

Type 4 is not possible with the official player.
Of course, you could convert it to e.g. MP3, Ogg Vorbis or any other, better type with tools like TuneBite once you installed the WMP plugin, but I'm not quite sure whether that's allowed everywhere... (Well, or legally, you could burn a CDRW, rip it, and rewrite the CDRW later on...)
AFAIR, TCPMP/CorePlayer has a plugin for .aa, but probably that's limited to type 3 due to licensing reasons, too. And I'm also not sure whether the DRM will work fine...
I once tried to contact Audible for a GSPlayer/MortPlayer plug-in, but all I got was a non-helping copy&paste default reply, so I dismissed that.
