I don't need an app that searches the internet; all my music already has embedded lyrics in the file - but I've done a few searches and I haven't found anything that would work with Windows Media Player Mobile, or Pocket Player (which supports most of the Windows Media Player Mobile plugins) or Coreplayer.

Is there anything out there for ppc that will simply READ lyrics off of ID3 tag?

Unfortunately, very few players support lyrics, and they're stabdalone players only (WinVibe and LGC Jukebox).

However, I'll tell the Pocket Player / CorePlayer folks to spend some time on implementing this.
