What is PhatNotes DB filename?

I need to restore my PhatNotes database from a Sprite backup. What is the name of the file I need?

If you ever made a backup using PhatNotes it's a file that ends in ".nbk". If you made a backup on the PC it's also an ".nbk" file but the primary file on the PC ends in ".wnt" and although I don't think the ".wnt" file works on the PPC it will restore the PPC Phatnotes databases when you sync.

If you never made Phatnotes backup, I can't help you but hopefully someone else can or you could email Phatware and ask them, they usually are pretty responsive.

Yes, on the PPC they your database files are stored in the database portion of memory under the same names you used in phat notes. Estracting those files from a backup depends on the program you use for back ups. I do not think Sprite can extract individulal database files. I think backups with SK-Tools can however. Good luck.

This is one thing I have done. I prefere Sprite Backup for a variety of reasons (speed mainly) but some times SK is just better. I have restored my backup from sprite, then backed up the data bases in SK and have restored the individual files on to the new rom or PDA using SK-Tools.

I ended up doing something similiar - I did a fresh backup, then restored from the old backup, backed up the PhatNotes DB using PhatNotes, then restored from the new backup, then restored PhatNotes. A pain, but worked. I will be doing PhatNotes backups from now on!

PhatNotes has completely wiped out my notes file almost each time I have flashed my rom. The back up feature is nice. However, each time you update PhatNotes, the backup is turned off and you have to turn it on again. Also, there is a recycle bin feature in the desktop version of PhatNotes that is very helpful for restoring files that are accidentally deleted.
