Question A better calendar program... if possible.

Well Im almost tired of testing out diffrent apps on the the net that seem to put more problems on my Axim.

So if someone can point me in the right direction on a better calendar that is compatible with my MS Outlook.

I am looking for a calendar that is going to show me some text as I look at the dates. Instead of color, arrows and boxes that original calendar has.

Pocket Informant and Agenda Fusion are the two current most popular calendar apps.

Have you tried Agenda Fusion or Pocket Informant ? They are both very similar apps that are much more than just calendar extensions.

A little pricy, but very good

I use Supercalendar- it shows little icons on the month view so you have some idea at a glance of what is coming up.

Now how much are we looking for these applications? Are there any freeware apps?

I uploaded the Agenda Fusion from the Dell disk that came with my Axim. It kicks ass in comparison to the generic version that is loaded by default.

As a Aximsite forum member are there any discounts on these apps?

Thanks for everyones input.

Calendar+ is free and available on Aximsite/Downloads/Productivity.

I have only just installed it myself so I cannot comment on its usefulness. Try it and see if it suits you.

Calendar+ is great, but it is a today-screen plugin and doesn't affect viewing of the calendar itself.

I use PI, and I really dig its flexibility. I use it integrated with my Outlook Calendar at work, and I have a tremendous amount of info that it keeps track of for me.

I tried Agenda Fusion, and it just wasn't right for my work style. PI is a fabulous program, and well worth what I paid for it 10x over.

Just my wooden nickle....

Thanks everyone... so far let me use this trial for 13 more days and see how I like it.

Then I will try PI and then calendar +.

Okay, my time with Agenda Fusion as a demo is ticking away. So far I like what I see.

Do we get any AximSite discounts on purchasing this software?

slza805,

I don't believe we have discounts for AF (or PI) , but there was a coupon code for 15% off at handango that many people have used:

http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showt...threadid=16320

I'm not sure if it still works, but if not, you might want to post a thread asking if there is anyone who would know of a current discount code.

Also, you don't need to try calendar + separately since it is a today screen plug-in. It won't interfere with the peformance of your calendar program.

I am looking for a better calendar too. These software companies just don't get it. We use our PDA to make our life SIMPLE. Why have so many bells and whistles. We know you can program, just don't clutter up these programs with all these options, we don't want them.

I ordered Day Viewer from Kaisoft because on Handango it looked simple, with a nice looking calendar and current appointments on the same screen. All I wanted to do is move to a different date on the Calendar and have the appointments for that day show up. Guess what, it doesn't.

In all fairness, I got instant email back from Kai himself and he explained that this was version 1.0 and new ones with day view, week view and month view are coming. Why was this released if it doesn't work?

I will inform you when the new version is out. If it does work like I hope it will, it will be a winner. Stay tuned

***never mind got it to work. Now what does this thing do. I see two Calendars on my Axim Today screen one is Calendar + the other is the default. Other than that I do not see anything special about this program.
Any tutorials on this program. If not I guess Agenda Fusion 5 is worth getting then.

Calplus is a .exe file and it install itself. Just click on the heading in Aximsite/Downloads/Productivity (first item listed) when a download box appears. The just click on "Open" and sit back and wait. If you have any problems, read Gigi's excellent tutorial on installing and running programs.

As stated earlier in this thread, Calendar + is a plug-in for the Axim today screen; it has nothing to do with your desktop.
