Hi!

I just downloaded a test version of Pocket Informant 8.02.
I like it! Almost sure I will buy it ...

But so far 2 things annoy me:

-did the programmers in this version think (somehow first installed 2007) that I am blind? The settings menus look huge. Can that be changed somewhere? This is not really a problem cause I do not intent to use the settings all the time ...
-overlapping appointments: I know that even MS Outlook considers appointments that do start straight after each other as overlapping (I just on't get why ...) but I think PI does some other things right that MS OL makes wrong so ... where is the setting for considering something overlapping over when it really overlaps. My problem is the red mark in the timeline and ... a bit also the left right separation in dayview.

One more thing: I do not like the way the different views are changed now (week, day, etc.). Can I get the old way back? Was faster ...

I would really appreciate if someone could tell me how to change that.

BTW: anywhere any discount for that piece of Software?

The huge settings are purposely to make the software finger friendly.

Look in the Hot Deals forum for possible discounts.

Sure this might be usefull if you wanna use the Software with your thumbs ... but it looks ugly so I think it should be possible to change it especially since everything is changeable in this software ...

But as I said: this is the least point ...

I think Pocket Informant is becoming a 'SmartPhone' product and less of a Pocket PC product. I suppose this makes sense as this is where all the new buyers will be, but for me with a Pocket PC with stylus, the programme is just a lot uglier with its GIANT menus.

Your best bet might be to ask these questions of WebIS via their forums.

I don't know how to change the settings menus but you can, if you are running WM5 or 6, return to the "old" style menus by going to:

Menu>My Informant>Settings>General Application>Menu style

and choosing "Use Classic Menubar".

Yeah - it is sad that PDAs are more or less discontinued. I hope my Axim will last long and then there is still the new HP ...
