handyswitcher hardware ok button not working

Handyswitcher 3.1.0.70
windows mobile 6 pro (DE 5.2.1629 (build 18136.0.4.8)

I have a sprint htc mogul with wm6. I'm using the handyswitcher free trial. I cannot get the hardware ok button support to work. My hardware ok button just closes the current app.

The "x" button on the top right of the screen does do what I configure handyswitcher to do as expected.

I also cannot set handswitcher to launch at system start. The "launch on system start" file menu item will not check.

Is this a known issue? Any fixes or workarounds?

Thanks.

It may also be worth mentioning that my mogul came pre-installed with the
htc task manager 2.0, build 31261. This htc task manager program does not show up in start -> settings -> "remove programs". I have disabled all the check boxes in task manager 2.0.

Finally, I've noticed that with handyswitcher running, I cannot close the
windows start -> "settings" menu with the "x" button. When I tap the "x" button, nothing happens. I have handyswitcher configured to minimize all when tapping "x".

Ok. one last thing. When I am in a random program, and in a menu or dialog which converts the upper right "x" button to an "ok" button, tapping the "ok" button will do the handyswither action (such as minimize the program). In order to press "ok", I have to go through the handyswitcher menu, and tap "ok" for the program.

To reproduce:

1. Set handyswither to minimize all on "x".
2. Open windows calendar.
3. Via soft key 2, do menu -> tools -> options.
4. tap "ok" in upper right.

Instead of "ok"ing the options dialog, calendar minimizes.

Dear happybrahma,

That is a lot to reply to but here we go...

- You did discover an issue with the check mark in the menu for "launch on system start". We fixed this issue and updated HandySwitcher to build 71. You can download it from www.dinarsoft.com

- The hardware OK button will always close the active/current program. Windows by default minimizes the current program when you press the OK button unless it is a dialog with "OK" instead of "X". HandySwitcher changes this behavior and makes it closes any current program.

- The problem you mentioned when you configure HandySwitcher to minimize all on tapping the X means that all programs will be minimized even the ones with "OK" button. So this is by design.
If you have setup the icon to appear on the top bar, you can configure tap&hold to minimize all and leave the "X" to system default.

- To further help us investigate closing the system->settings, can you please make sure that the HTC task manager is completely turned off, and if the problem still exists, try to check if Start->Today would close it.

Oh, I misunderstood the feature. Thanks for explaining.

Oh. "X" should be system default then! I see. I was really confused. To make even weirder, "ok"'ing my new handylauncher settings was not taking effect because "ok" was set to minimize. Good thing for the hardware ok button!

I turned off the HTC task manager features. Start->today closed "settings", and now I can't reproduce the problem at all! "settings" is closing just fine.
I reproduced this one more time accidentally, but I don't yet have a reliable way of reproducing this problem. I'll post again if I figure it out. The start->today definitely works around the problem.

Thanks for the thorough answers. You guys have been very helpful.
