Although it might not be as pretty as Wisbar, this freeware is a pretty nice alternative if your sick of the default start menu. Its also similar to ProgramMenuPlus, but this program is free.

Its called "Start Menu Service"

It allows you to keep the custom image or color you have for the background of your start menu, but defaults to white text and there is no option to change it yet. So, make sure your start menu image/color is dark.

Compared to Wisbar, which looks slightly better but costs $10.


Compared to ProgramMenuPlus, which is ancient and still costs $5.
