Styletap

I am trying to master this styletap thing. I am running a flight planning software program on a axim x51v that requires styletap. It seems as though everytime I activesync, the program goes back to it's original and I loose all the information that I entered. I assumed that when I sync'd it would back up the info on my pc?
Anybody have any experiences that would help.
Thanks in advance.

What "styletap thing" are you referring to? What flight planning software are you using?

Check the AS settings - maybe it's set to overwrite your axim

Just a wild guess :o

I'd say you are right Z :)

@bowski

After you've set up you're app and before you sync, open activesync and go to options [not connected to PC]

once open select the PC you are syncing with and the select settings

Make sure you have the settings like this to keep your axim the same

Similairly these settings can be changed from the desktop but only when connected, so you have to do it quickly, before the axim starts to sync

looks like this!

Hope this helps!:approve:

Those settings only help if AS recognizes a conflict between devices during a sync...that is, if the data being synced has changed on both devices since the last sync, AS recognizes a conflict and syncs the data as specified in those options.

But if only one device has changed the data, AS won't recognize a conflict and so those "rules" are not used when the data is synced.

Yeah that right Julie, but when you're in trouble - as bowski is - you cannot totally exclude that changes have been made on the ax AND the pc.

It's worth investigating I think :)

Unless I missed a substantial update, StyleTap knows nothing about Activesync (nor WMDC on Vista). It only allows you to run Palm applications, stand-alone, on a PPC.
