Hmm... different browser

Okay. I was sorta trolling through websites and discovered a browser I've never heard of before. It's called ucbrowser or ucweb. It's for mobile phones but there are ways to get this working on your PDA ;)

I downloaded the cab and installed the HTC Touch Diamond version since it's resolutions are similar. I've installed it to my storage card and it worked.

I haven't taken it for a full-test ride but the menu executions seem very smooth :)

The text and pics are pretty clear so far.

It has a built-in download manager.

Scrolling is kinetic and very smooth. There are other cabs on the website...actually ALOT OF CABS. You can also use your PC to install it.

Pretty interesting so far. I know that Opera 9.7 came out. I haven't installed that yet but hear it's a memory hog! If this browser has a way to get flash support it would be pretty nice.

I'm not working for the company so I hope you don't think I'm panning this out to you and getting paid :o I was just curious and had noticed my 9.5 diamond version of Opera took my RAM down to 12 mb from 28.0 mb. I've just checked my RAM with ucweb on now and it's at 26.3 with a YouTube page on. Flash isn't working yet but I'm going to read a bit more and see what fix they got here.
