Journal Bar 1.4.3

I am running what I think is the latest version of Journal Bar on my Axim. While most of the data now seems to download OK (weather, news, etc) I have a strange problem in that the "opening screen" that JB provides - the one with the icons for Sports Scores, Movies, etc seems to have disappeared. It is there when I first install JB, but after I update once, the icon screen is gone. All then other screens seem to be there, US News, Stocks, etc, but that opening screen is mysteriously vanished. Anybody else seem this behavior?

I also installed the latest version of Journal Bar and had nothing but problems. It started out not downloading any info and after a few days it started locking up my axim. I emailed omegaone several times and each time they reply with a solution my axim locks up. I have even done a hard reset at their request and installed journal bar with no other software and it locked up. I decided that I wasted my money and I am not going to try to install it again. If someone can tell me how to make it work I would appreciate it since I paid for it. By the way I tried the demo before I purchased it and it worked.

I know just how you feel. The Demo and various versions I have run have all had spotty, and erratic performance. Some things work some of the time and some things work at other times. I don't think Omegaone has their act together, and I think either they or Handango should consider a refund for a piece of software that won't work and they can't seem to fix.

Well shoot! I missed an update somewhere. I have 1.4.2-12 installed and have no problems. I'll have to track down the update.

Journal Bar is frequently flaky, but I like the features so much that I stick with it. I keep hoping it will settle down and work reliably.

I really do like Journal bar, but itm is so inconsistent that it drives me nuts. Today as i was leaving work I connected to get the latest news. This time about only one-half of the subjects updated. Got stocks and weather but much of the news was not updated. You just never know what you are going to get. Come on Omegaone. . .MAKE IT WORK. . IT CAN'T BE THAT DIFFICULT

i have version 1.4.2-12. it installed flawlessly and has worked fine ever sivce. if 1.4.3 is the most recent, perhaps we should steer clear and watch for more issues with it. i love jb. what's the difference with the new version?

i am using jb 1.4.3 and it seems to run okay on my ppc2002. the only think i notice is that when it downloads one of the seperation lines on my today screen dissappears.

I'd have to agree with the majority here, that JB is a nice program, but inconsistent and flakey. I am like Handy, though, and will keep it around. I love the weather, and the other features.

With that said, every update seems to introduce (or re-introduce) problems, while others just never seem to be fixed.

I guess it's nice that Omega One releases a patch a week, but I'm thinking they should spend more time in development (and maybe just a BIT in beta), and release stable software a couple of times a year.

I've had similar trouble with Battery Bar, to the point I've pulled that off the Dell. Next year I'll give that one a try again, but not before.
