HP printing software - problems

I had Hp printing software installed and working well over my wireless network I was able to print to my HP 840c and the IR printer at work......great no problem..........

Then sometime later when I launched the HP software all the printers I had configured had gone and when I tried to set them up again the HP software paused on the choose printer type screen, with just the busy circle going round and round.

I have uninstallled and reinstalled several time to no effect, any body have any idea what the problem could be?

I have the same problem. I also have tried everything to solve the problem.

Just installed PrintPocketCE and it works great! Only problem is you have to pay for it! and it is $39.95. Kind of high for only needing to print once in a while.

Has anyone else seen this problem or even solved it. I even went thru the registry and deleted all entries I could find for HP mobile printing and then did a new install. Same thing.

Yes I also tried deleting all the registry keys, but no luck and as tdangle said other printing options are really too expensive for the odd print out.

I was planning to do a backup, hard reset and then reinstalling HP printing to see if I could find out what triggered the problem.

Any advice welcomed

HP Mobile Printing - Wait Icon Spins Continually (Version 1.X)
ISSUE:

You are trying to configure a new printer, but the Wait icon continues to spin indefinitely even while you are configuring a printer.

You may have downloaded a program that uses an earlier version of the system file, adocedb30.dll.

SOLUTION:

The HP Mobile Printing for Pocket PC requires the file version supplied with the Pocket PC 2002 operating system. This file can be re-read from ROM by removing the earlier version installed by another program.

NOTE: .dll files can only be accessed through the Active Sync connection. The host PC File Explorer must be used to remove the earlier adocedb30.dll version. The date stamp and size of the file supplied by Pocket PC 2002 should be 6/6/01 size: 104KB. Only versions not originally supplied in ROM can be removed via File Explorer of the host PC
Make sure all programs have been stopped on the Pocket PC by performing a soft reset.
Establish the Active Sync connection with the Pocket PC device.
On the host PC, start up File Explorer by right-clicking Start, then Explore.

Find the file, adocedb30.dll, using the following path: Desktop, My Computer, Mobile Device, My Pocket PC, Windows.

Right-click on the adocedb30.dll icon and select Delete. If you are unable to delete the file, then check the time/date stamp to make sure it is different than the one supplied in ROM. The date stamp and size of the file supplied by Pocket PC 2002 should be 6/6/01 size: 104KB. Only versions not originally supplied in ROM can be removed via File Explorer of the host PC.

Perform a soft reset. The file, adocedb30.dll, will be re-read from ROM.
