well, yes. in short.
most or all of the functionality of the listed programs which you use can be replicated or replaced with wa and wad.
ive tried and used them all, and this is by far the best and most configurable setup ever.
ive found that device performance is dictated by the delicate placement of files and executables during and after an install. this is the key to a sound and speedy device, and ultimately a device that is functional and as usefull as possible (at least from the today screen).
for example, im using an ipaq 6515, which dosnt allow for much in the way of performance when youre skinning and customizing the today screen. where as the eten m600, or the hx5555 i have, offer much more in the way of internal starage, so you can be a little more sloppy about file clutter.
i highly recommend reading the pocketpc magazine blog section of expert Werner "Menneisyys" Ruotsalainen... theres no other place to get this level of information about the method of installing programs, and what to do with files after an install (sorry, my english is poor).

to get my device running at top performance, i install anything i can to the sd card (i would also recommend reading up on formatting an sd card for performance at the anton tomov website(pocket mechanic)).
right now, wisbar is installed to internal storage, wad is installed to the sd card, all skins are installed to the sd card. some programs have to be installed to internal storage, like pocket informant. i also install sbsh pocketbreeze to internal storage.
that makes up for all the maiin programs i install to the internal storage. above and beyond that, everything goes on the sd card. pocket weather, weatherpanel, sktools, etc etc etc... i can get more specific if you want.
i then remove any files i can, if possible, per the ideas from Menneisyys blogs.
this greatly increases the performace and stability of the device.
