i personally like the functionality of the sprite backup, in that it provides a simple interface, self extracting backup files, and post rom update reinstall of a backup. sktools is not a backup tool, its a group of tools for the maintenance and management of the whole system, including backup. and its much less expensive, and its updates are free.

so i would reccommend both of course, but if youre on a budget, go with sktools. its something everyone should have in their arsenal.

i like the granularity of the sktools backup, but its not as full featured as sprite.

He is right, SK tool is less powerful than the Sprite and less functional, but it can backup the separate items which Sprite does not.

I'd get both. Sprite can't be beaten in some areas; SKTools, on the other hand, has a LOT of non-backup-related functionality and is THE greatest systems management app.

I'm having a nightmare with Sprite ever since I updated my ROM to 1.10 on my iPaq 2210 and had to ugrade my Sprite to 3.1.4.

I can backup in the 2210 to the SD card but I cannot do a back to my PC without this error message

"Could not create a backup file. Is a storage card write protected ?"

Its not!

So I thought I'd cut my loses and try something else, Sk, but I can't see how, if it can do a backup to the PC.

I can use Sprite to restore after a ROM upgrade, currently Sprite is the only app that can do this so it gets my vote. Apart from upgrade mode it works like a charm

You might want to defrag your card, or reformat it and then give it a go.
