erasing data before selling device on

hi.
how do I securely erase data before selling on my windows mobile 5 device.

I have an eten x500 and it has a utility called default settings which "clean boots" the device.
will this do the job properly.

i presume this is a clean reset then? and how does this differ from a hard reset.

thanks for any advice.

Not Sure what device that you have. But a hard rest will put your deviced back to the factory default settings. I should earase all of your previous settings & all the software that you might have installed will be gone.

I have an eten glofiish x500 running windows mobile 5.

I know on wm2003 machines a hard reset would be sufficient.
but i was wondering if a hard reset was sufficient for windows mobile 5 devices.
do you not have to do a "clean" reset with windows mobile 5.

Start>Settings>System>Clear Storage

That will be sufficient for deleting all data from the main memory (wm2003 quivilent to hard reset). You could always go through set up again and check to see if all files have been deleted and then clear storage again to get it back to factory new (sort of!). It will not tipe the storage card however.

, with hints and tips including a link for the ROM fix for the RX3700 series with links to all languages for the RX3715 latest ROM updates. Also allows for any wm2003SE device to change their language.

thanks RICOUK.
I actually don't have an option to clear storage in settings>system.

what I do have is a utility called
"default settings" which "clean boots" the device if i input a code. does this sound like a clean reset or the equivalent of a wm2003 hard reset.
and if so does that securely erase data.
thanks.
